Troops Arrest Suspected Gunrunner in Barkin Ladi, Plateau State

Troops of Operation Lafiyan Jama’a, tasked with combating insurgency and restoring peace in Plateau State, have arrested a suspected gunrunner in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area.

• The suspect, identified as Stephen Gyang, 40, was apprehended on Sunday night during a stop-and-search operation along the Kafi-Rakwok road.

• Security operatives recovered one locally fabricated AK-47 rifle, one magazine, and 30 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition from him.

• Acting on credible intelligence, troops intercepted Stephen while he was allegedly transporting arms and ammunition intended for terrorists.

• Stephen Gyang, a native of Kafi Abu village in Barkin Ladi, is currently in military custody pending further investigation and prosecution.
