17-Year-Old Nigerian Girl beats 69 countries to Wins Global English Language Competition in London

Nafisat Aminu, a 17-year-old student from Yobe State, Nigeria, has emerged as the top performer in English Language at the prestigious TeenEagle Global Finals held in London, United Kingdom.

The results, announced on Monday, revealed that Nafisat outperformed over 20,000 participants from 69 countries to earn global recognition in the English Language category.

Her outstanding achievement has sparked celebration across social media, especially on X (formerly Twitter), where Nigerians praised her success as a proud moment for the country.

User @abbeykool wrote, “Nigeria wins again,” while another user commented, “We have the best brains here; we dominate anytime we compete.”

Nafisat’s global victory comes on the heels of other recent sporting and academic successes for Nigeria. Earlier this week, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu rewarded Nigeria’s women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, and the Super Falcons with $100,000 each for their respective continental victories.

Nafisat’s accomplishment adds to the growing list of young Nigerians excelling on the world stage.
