ASUU Strike: NLC to Hold Meeting as Ultimatum to FG Expires today
The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has announced that its relevant organs will convene to determine the next course of action following the expiration of its ultimatum to the Federal Government on Saturday.
Benson Upah, the Acting Secretary-General of the NLC, disclosed this in a chat with Punch.
The ultimatum, issued a month ago, demanded that the Federal Government resolve the ongoing crises affecting universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education. It officially expired on Friday.
Upah emphasized that the NLC remains committed to maintaining industrial harmony in tertiary institutions. He stated:
“In keeping with our pledge and in pursuance of our unflagging commitment to the noble causes of the unions in tertiary institutions, appropriate organs of the Congress will meet and decide on the next line of action. You’d be duly informed.”
