Space Clubs International has urged parents nationwide to empower their children by enrolling them in the free 2024 Space Academy during the holiday season. This initiative is the culmination of a year’s effort to establish Space Clubs in schools across Nigeria.

According to a statement from the club, the virtual training program is also open to adults and non-students, aiming to ignite participants’ curiosity about the cosmos and space.

“Participants will learn to read the sky, explore our Solar System, and discover pathways to becoming astronomers and astronauts. The reality is that most Africans and Nigerians know little about space or are indifferent to it,” the statement said.

“No economically advanced country in the world lacks a space program, nor does any economically disadvantaged country have one. A functional space program significantly boosts a nation’s economic and technological development.”

The 2024 Space Academy seeks to change this, offering a completely free program accessible to participants worldwide via phones and computers. Upon completion, participants will be awarded certificates as Junior Astronomers and Virtual Astronauts.
