McPherson University to Induct First Cohort of Nursing Graduates
McPherson University, located in Seriki Sotayo, Ogun State, is preparing for the inaugural induction ceremony of its first cohort of nursing graduates into the Nursing Profession.
According to a statement from the university, the event will take place on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at the University’s Multipurpose Hall.
“The ceremony is expected to draw relevant stakeholders from the education sector, friends of the University from various walks of life, and representatives from the Nursing & Midwifery Council of Nigeria,” the statement said.
Dr. Dorothy Odetola, a lecturer in the Department of Community Health Nursing at the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, will deliver a speech on the topic, ‘Advancing Frontiers In Nursing Education And Practice: Effect of Japa Syndrome On Sub-Saharan Africa,’ highlighting the national issue of brain drain.
Additionally, Dr. Faruk Abubakar, Registrar of the Nursing & Midwifery Council of Nigeria, is anticipated to attend the event, where the new graduates will be formally inducted into the Nursing Profession as Registered Nurses.
The statement also noted that the university’s first group of nursing graduates excelled in the recent Nursing Council Examination, demonstrating the institution’s dedication to producing a new generation of nurses who will positively impact the global community.
