Nigerian singer Ololade Ahmed, popularly known as Asake, revealed that his colleague Wizkid was the one who reached out to be featured on his song “MMS.”

Asake shared that he initially had someone else in mind for the collaboration, but after producer P. Prime played the song for Wizkid, he expressed interest in being part of it.

During a recent interactive session with fans on Instagram, Asake explained, “I didn’t know I was going to put Wizkid on that song, to be honest. I had someone else in mind, but P. Prime played the song for Wiz, and Wiz said, ‘I f*ck with this song, I want to jump on it.’”

The previous record was held by “IDK” by Wizkid featuring Zlatan Ibile, which had 626,000 streams.

Additionally, Asake’s “Lungu Boy” broke the record for the biggest first-day streams for an African album on Spotify, amassing 9.42 million streams on the Global Spotify Chart on its first day.
