Ayra Starr and Tems Lead Spotify’s Most Streamed Nigerian Artists List

Ayra Starr and Tems have emerged as the leading Nigerian artists on Spotify, based on the platform’s compilation of Nigeria’s top 30 tracks released in the first half of 2024.

Ayra Starr’s collaboration with Rauw Alejandro on ‘Santa’ showcased her dominance, securing her the second spot with her solo hit ‘Comma’. Meanwhile, Tems claimed third place with her popular track ‘Love Me Jeje’.

Among other notable entries were Luciano and Omah Lay’s ‘Another Vibe’ ranking fourth, followed by Burna Boy and Savage’s ‘Metro Booming Just Like Me’ at fifth. ‘No.1’ by Tyla and Tems rounded out the top six most streamed tracks.

Phiona Okumu, Spotify’s Head of Music for Sub-Saharan Africa, unveiled these rankings at a press conference in Lagos, emphasizing that the list recognized the most listened to Nigerian tracks worldwide between January 1 and June 30, 2024.
