Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Burna Boy has refuted claims of using songwriters, responding to assertions made by Davido’s signee, Logos Olori.

In a recent interview with City 105. Fm, Logos Olori suggested that top artists like Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy rely on songwriters, stating, “Most people who criticize artists for using songwriters don’t understand the music business.” He emphasized the demanding schedules of musicians and the practical need for songwriters.

Burna Boy, addressing the issue via his X handle, countered that he personally does not employ songwriters. He clarified that individuals credited as songwriters on his tracks are actually producers, in line with western music crediting policies.

However, this statement appears to contradict Burna Boy’s earlier acknowledgment that Davido’s signee, Peruzzi, once wrote a song for him, a fact he publicly confirmed some years ago.
