Elton John Shares Struggle with Eye Infection
Legendary British singer Sir Elton John has opened up about his battle with an eye infection.
In a personally signed statement, the 77-year-old shared that the infection has caused “limited vision” in one of his eyes, and that his recovery has been slow.
“I’ve been dealing with a severe eye infection that has unfortunately left me with limited vision in one eye. While I am healing, it’s a very slow process, and it will take some time before my sight returns to the affected eye,” he said in the statement.
Despite the challenges, John expressed optimism about his recovery, saying he is “feeling positive about the progress” he has made so far.
The iconic singer announced his retirement from touring a few months ago. His farewell tour, which concluded early last year, grossed $939 million (£749 million) over 328 shows, making it the highest-grossing music tour in history until it was surpassed by Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras’ tour, which brought in $1 billion.
