Embarrassing, you sing ‘on your mandate’ for someone you should be checking – Macaroni slams Senators
Popular Nollywood actor and skit maker Adebowale Debo Adedayo, popularly known as Mr. Macaroni, has slammed the Nigerian Senate and called on public office holders to be more accountable to Nigerians.
In a post on X, he urged the President, ministers, governors, senators, and members of the House of Representatives to “wake up” and serve the people faithfully.
“Everyone of you!! And all of you are and should be made accountable to the people of Nigeria!!! You people better WAKE UP,” he wrote.
The actor criticised what he described as APC loyalists who, in his words, “have sold their conscience and dignity for the misfortune of scraping leftovers at a table where they should be kings and queens.” He added, “No amount of attacks against my person will ever stop me from speaking against this government’s failure and incompetence!”
Turning his attention to the Senate, Mr. Macaroni expressed frustration with lawmakers who, he claimed, prioritize allegiance to the President over representing citizens. “You can’t even summon the President and ask questions on behalf of the people of Nigeria that you ought to be representing! But they know how to share our money (prayers) to their mailboxes and oppress Nigerians with the same power the people have given to them! Embarrassing lots!”
His comments come in the wake of the recent terrorist attack on St. Mary’s Catholic School in Papiri, Niger State, where students and staff were abducted. The Kotangora Catholic Diocese confirmed the attack, while authorities continue to verify the total number of victims.
The incident follows a similar attack in Kebbi State, where at least 25 students were kidnapped from a government school.
