Funeral rites for late Nollywood actor Mr Ibu begin in Enugu
The late Nollywood actor John Ikechukwu Okafor, Mr. Ibu, will be buried on June 28 in Amuri, his hometown in Enugu State.
Social media videos show his body arriving on Friday as loved ones gather to say their goodbyes.
On Wednesday in Enugu State, a special event was organized to honor him, with actors Charles Anwurum and Victor Osuagwu joining others in paying their respects.
NIGERIA NEWS 247 had previously reported that the Actors Guild of Nigeria’s candlelight procession at Unity Fountain in Abuja to remember Mr. Ibu and other late actors.
Rangers International Football Club, alongside celebrities and others, arranged a unique football game to pay tribute to the late Mr. Ibu.
The beloved actor passed away on March 2, 2024, following a long illness. In October 2023, Mr. Ibu bravely shared his battle with diabetes, leading to the amputation of his leg after undergoing seven surgeries just one month later.
