Afrobeats star Stanley Omah Didia, popularly known as Omah Lay, has said that prayers alone are not enough to address Nigeria’s deepening challenges.

The singer argued that the country will not improve unless citizens begin to take decisive and practical actions.

“No Jesus, no Allah, no prayer is saving us. Nothing changes until we wake TF up,” he wrote on his X handle on Thursday.

Omah Lay’s remarks come amid renewed calls from Christian and Islamic clerics urging Nigerians to pray for the nation as insecurity and economic hardship escalate.

Several public figures — including Don Jazzy, Davido, Falz, and Mr Macaroni — have also expressed outrage following the recent terrorist attack on a church in Kwara State and the abduction of schoolgirls in Kebbi State, urging government authorities to act swiftly.

Similarly, singer Yemi Alade on Wednesday rejected calls for foreign intervention, insisting that “African problems need African solutions, not new problems.”
