“I Ended My 13-Year Marriage Due to Abuse,” Says Actress Ayo Mogaji

Veteran Nollywood actress, Ayo Mogaji, has finally opened up about the reasons behind her departure from her 13-year marriage with retired footballer, Victor Ayodele Oduleye.

In a recent interview on the ‘Talk To Be’ podcast with actress Biola Bayo, Mogaji revealed that she endured abuse during her marriage to Oduleye. She recounted the challenges she faced, including verbal and physical abuse, even during their time in England.

“We fell in love with each other, but the beatings over trivial issues, the abusive language, and the mental and physical torture became unbearable. When it reached a point where I felt unsafe, I knew it was time to leave,” Mogaji explained.

She described how she would sometimes leave the house to avoid confrontation when it was just the two of them at home, seeking refuge outside until someone else came around.

“We were together for thirteen years, but we have been separated for the past four years now,” she added, reflecting on the difficult decision to end the marriage for her own well-being.
