Iyanya Reacts Strongly to Comparison with Wizkid

Nigerian singer Iyanya responded to a social media user who belittled his musical achievements while discussing why Wizkid faces criticism in the music industry.

A user with the handle @itzbasito had stated, “Wizkid’s only crime is surpassing the benchmark set for him and becoming the benchmark himself.” Another user, @Xperience_Snr, reposted this comment, suggesting that expectations for Wizkid were for him to end up like Iyanya and Samklef.

Expressing his discontent with the comparison, Iyanya retorted, “You will end up like your father,” in response to the insinuation that his career fell short of expectations.

In another post, the singer lamented the toxicity of the online space, criticizing the tendency to undermine years of an artist’s hard work with casual remarks.
