Kanayo O. Kanayo Explains Why He Rejects Monogamy

Veternal Nollywood actor Kanayo O. Kanayo has shared his views on monogamy, asserting that it is foreign to African culture.

In the latest episode of ‘The Honest Bunch’ podcast, Kanayo stated that he does not believe in monogamy, instead favoring polygamy. He emphasized that monogamy is an imported concept: “I don’t believe in one wife. It is not our culture. It is not our tradition. It is not who we are. These are imported things.”

Kanayo revealed that he was unaware of divorce until he moved to Lagos from the South East, adding, “The Igbo man prefers to die in the marriage than divorcing.”

Despite his views, the actor is known to be married to one wife, Nneka Onyekwere.
