Police Arrest Three Suspects in Connection with Attack on Obesere in Okitipupa

The Ondo State Police Command has arrested three individuals in connection with the violent attack on Fuji musician Obesere and his crew last Friday in Okitipupa town.

The incident occurred after Obesere performed at a burial ceremony, during which thugs reportedly stormed the venue, assaulted the singer and his team, and stole valuables.

Reacting to the attack, Okitipupa Local Government Chairman, Soga Andrew Ogunsakin, condemned the incident and assured the public of his commitment to accountability. In a statement shared on his Facebook page, he confirmed the arrest of three suspects and the recovery of some of Obesere’s stolen items.

“Upon receiving the report on the unfortunate incident involving Obesere, I immediately swung into action to ensure accountability and restore calm. I’m pleased to inform the public that three suspects connected to the disturbance have been arrested, while efforts are ongoing to track down other individuals involved. Some items said to have been stolen have also been successfully recovered,” Ogunsakin stated.

He added that he has contacted Obesere’s management to schedule a meeting to formally express his concern over the attack.
