Renowned Nigerian rapper Jude Abaga, popularly known as M.I, has expressed regret over his past support for the All Progressives Congress (APC), admitting the party has fallen short of expectations.

Speaking on a recent episode of the Menism podcast, the ‘African Rapper No. 1’ hitmaker revealed he backed the APC during the 2015 elections because he believed the then-ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was plagued by corruption.

“Yes, I supported APC because at that time, I felt the PDP government was very corrupt. I was part of those who raised their voices for change,” he said.

However, the rapper acknowledged that the APC has not delivered on its promises. “APC, unfortunately, isn’t the APC of my dreams,” he added.

Reacting to criticism over his political stance, especially in light of ongoing insecurity in the country, M.I emphasized that everyone is prone to making mistakes. “As human beings, no matter how much we try to be right, we will be wrong sometimes.”

M.I also disclosed that his current focus is on leveraging his music and influence to collaborate with other young Nigerians in the effort to build a better country.
