Singer Obesere Robbed in Ondo as Thugs Steal Phone, Watch, and Cash

Renowned Nigerian Fuji musician Obesere was reportedly attacked by a notorious thug, Michael Abbey, popularly known as “Emir”, during a performance in Ondo State on Friday.

The incident occurred at a burial ceremony held at the Government Field in Okitipupa, where Obesere was performing. According to reports, a gang of thugs stormed the venue without warning, assaulting the singer and his crew and causing panic among guests.

Obesere’s manager, who attempted to protect the musician, was reportedly stabbed with a broken bottle. During the chaos, Obesere’s mobile phone, wristwatch, and gold chain were stolen, along with a bag containing N4 million in cash.

A witness, Bosede Akinyemi, described the incident, saying, “I attended the event on Friday. It was truly a disgraceful act. A gang of local thugs attacked Obesere and his band while they were performing on the stage.”
