The Actors Guild declares April 11th as ‘No Shoot Day’ to honor the late Junior Pope.
The Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, has designated today, Thursday, as a “No Shoot Day” for all Nollywood filmmakers, in response to the tragic death of actor Junior Pope and three other crew members in a boat accident on the Anam River in Anambra on Wednesday.
Emeka Rollas, National President of AGN, stated on Thursday that the incident occurred during the production of a movie titled “The Other Side of Life,” produced by Adamma Luke.
“In light of the unfortunate boat mishap that claimed the lives of Junior Pope and three crew members at the waterside of River Niger Cable point Asaba on April 10th, all filming involving riverine areas and boat rides are hereby suspended indefinitely.
“There will be no shooting at any location nationwide on Thursday, April 11, 2024, and the film titled ‘The Other Side of Life’ is suspended indefinitely.
“Furthermore, no actor is permitted to work with Adamma Luke as a producer until further notice, as we continue to search for the bodies of the remaining individuals.
“May their souls rest in peace,” he concluded.
