“We Want Action, Not Press Statement” — Cute Abiola Slams FG Over Kwara Church Attack
Popular comedian Cute Abiola has urged both the Federal Government and the Kwara State Government to take decisive action to address insecurity in the state.
Reacting to the recent attack on a Christ Apostolic Church in Eruku by suspected bandits, the skit maker stressed that Nigerians are tired of statements and promises and want tangible results. He noted that the viral footage from the incident highlights how unsafe the country has become.
On his X account on Wednesday, Cute Abiola wrote: “What happened in Kwara State is heartbreaking. Seeing that elderly woman running for her life inside a church—a place where she should feel safe—is devastating. That clip alone says everything about how unsafe we have become as a nation.
“To the Federal Government of Nigeria and Kwara State Government: Please, we don’t want another press statement. Don’t tell us you are ‘on top of the situation.’ Don’t release promises that die after one week. We need action. We need results. We need protection.”
DJ Neptune also reacted to the attack, warning that no place in Nigeria feels safe. The musician lamented that insecurity has worsened despite government promises to end it.
On X, he wrote: “Nowhere seems to be safe anymore, and this should never be the case! This government promised to end insurgency. To the right authorities, please fulfil your promises and wipe out these devilish creatures causing our land so much pain.”
