The House of Representatives has initiated an inquiry into the escape of Nadeem Anjarwalla, Head of Binance Africa, from the custody of the National Security Adviser.

The decision came after Dennis Okafor introduced a motion of urgent public importance during Wednesday’s plenary session.

Anjarwalla, along with Tigran Gambaryan, was detained in Abuja before Anjarwalla escaped and left the country.

In the motion, Okafor expressed concern that Anjarwalla’s escape was a source of embarrassment for Nigeria and called for an investigation into the circumstances surrounding it.

Additionally, the House refute allegations of soliciting bribes from individuals.

Kama Nkem Kanma addressed a point of privilege, asserting that the House cannot be implicated in such behavior. Although not explicitly mentioning Binance, recent accusations from Binance CEO Richard Teng regarding bribery demands were noted.

Kanma clarified that the House did not request any funds from Binance and urged for decisive action.

In response, Speaker Tajudeen Abbas directed the House Clerk, Yahaya Danzaria, to utilize media channels to refute the allegations.
