Benue State Polytechnic Ugbokolo’s Acting Rector, Dr. Emmanuel Barki, Kidnapped Last Week, Now Released
Dr. Emmanuel Barki, the acting rector of Benue State Polytechnic Ugbokolo, who was abducted last week, has been released by his captors.
Barki, along with two other staff members of the institution and a driver, was kidnapped by unidentified gunmen last Wednesday while returning to Ugbokolo from an official assignment.
He regained his freedom in the late hours of Monday.
Speaking to journalists in Makurdi after his release, Dr. Barki attributed his freedom to divine intervention.
“I regained my freedom due to God’s intervention,” he said, expressing gratitude to his family, friends, and the church for their prayers and support during his captivity.
