Four armed men have reportedly raided the Aiyetoro Fulani Camp in Kwara State, abducting a 12-year-old girl identified as Hassana Abdullahi, the daughter of Mr. Abdullahi Jowuro.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, with the assailants striking under the cover of darkness. They forcibly took the girl and fled into the surrounding bush.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Kwara State Command, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, confirmed the abduction. She noted that a joint team comprising police officers, vigilantes, and local hunters has been deployed to the area to conduct a search and rescue operation.

She added, “In response, joint tactical teams have been deployed to comb the bush and conduct rescue operations. The Command remains committed to public safety and urges residents to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity.”

According to a source who spoke to Nigeria News 247, the attack took place on Tuesday night when the assailants stormed Kpotun’s residence. In the process, both he and his son were fatally shot.

The source further revealed that the gunmen continued their rampage beyond Kpotun’s household. “It wasn’t only his family they attacked; they also targeted another household and killed someone there too,” the source said.
