Popular Nigerian actress Bukola Arugba has publicly challenged the Kwara State First Lady, Olufolake Abdulrazaq, over her characterization of the recent attack on a church in the state.

NIGERIA NEWS 247 reports that terrorists attacked a branch of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) during a live-streamed church program on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Eruku, Ekiti LGA, Kwara State. The attack left three people dead, with an unconfirmed number of worshippers, including the pastor, abducted.

In a video shared on her Instagram page on Wednesday evening, Arugba criticized the First Lady for describing the incident as an “attempted attack,” arguing that the statement downplayed the severity of the tragedy.

A native of Eruku, Arugba stated that three of her family members — her aunt Titi Balogun and two cousins, Ebenezer and Aina — were abducted during the attack. She insisted that the assault was successful and deadly.

“This involves my people directly. We all saw the viral video online; it was live-streamed while the program was ongoing. It was never an attempted attack but a successful attack,” Arugba said. “I was in so much pain after seeing the release that called it an attempted attack, claiming nobody died. People were hospitalized, many were abducted, and three are confirmed dead. The reports on your page are false and contradict what happened.”

Arugba’s statement underscores the concerns of residents in Eruku and the surrounding community over the handling and communication of the tragic event.
