Kwara Governor Approves Recruitment of 2,600 Forest Guards to Boost Security

Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has approved the recruitment of 2,600 additional forest guards as part of intensified efforts to tackle insecurity in the state’s North and South Senatorial Districts.

According to a statement issued on Thursday by the governor’s Senior Special Assistant on New Media, Olayinka Fafoluyi, the new recruits will join the 700 forest guards previously hired. These personnel are currently collaborating with security agencies on the frontlines to combat banditry and restore peace in vulnerable communities.

The statement further explained that the 2,600 recruits will begin advanced military training this week, focusing on the use of sophisticated weapons and modern tactical strategies to effectively neutralize security threats.

Highlighting the significance of the recruitment, the statement added: “This renewed recruitment drive underscores Governor Abdulrazaq’s commitment to strengthening the security architecture across Kwara State and ensuring that criminal elements are rooted out to restore lasting peace.”
