The Oyo State Police Command has arrested five suspects linked to the abduction of a man named Timothy, who was kidnapped from his home in Mokorede, Ipapo, Itesiwaju Local Government Area, on June 26, 2025.

The command’s spokesperson, CSP Adewale Osifeso, confirmed the arrests in a statement on Monday, adding that ₦4,618,700—believed to be part of the ransom paid for Timothy’s release—was recovered from the suspects.

According to police reports, six armed men invaded Timothy’s residence at about 11:00 p.m. and whisked him away to an undisclosed location. Following a distress call, the Divisional Police Officer in Ipapo mobilized a joint rescue operation involving police officers, Amotekun Corps, local hunters, and Fulani vigilance groups.
