Two Councillors and Imam Abducted in Zamfara Community Attack

The Chairman of Maradun Local Government Area in Zamfara State, Hon. Sanusi Gama Giwa, has confirmed the abduction of two serving councillors and an imam during an attack in Tsauni community, located in Gusau, the state capital.

In a statement personally signed by him, Giwa revealed that the councillors, representing Gidan Goga and Tsibiri wards, were abducted around 8:05 pm on Wednesday near a police outpost, shortly after performing Maghrib prayers.

He explained that the victims were gathered with others at a tea spot when armed attackers struck. “This happened right in front of a police station where officers are normally present. The bandits even confiscated phones from the police officers without any resistance. Fortunately, no one was harmed,” he said.
