Adamawa State Police Initiate Investigation Into Reported Assault on POS Operator
The Adamawa State Police Command has launched an investigation into a violent robbery in Ngurore after a 25-year-old POS operator, Akwarakiram Abel, was seriously injured during the attack.
According to a statement signed by the PPRO, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, the incident occurred on Friday between 3:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. when unidentified armed men broke into Abel’s home in Sabon Pegi, Ngurore, Yola South.
The attackers reportedly assaulted Abel with a cutlass, resulting in injuries that led to the amputation of his hand, and stole his belongings.
Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, has directed the Criminal Investigation Department to carry out a thorough investigation to identify and apprehend the perpetrators. He reassured residents that the Command remains committed to safeguarding lives and property across Adamawa State and vowed that justice would be served.
