August 1 Protest: Amuwo Odofin LG Chair Issues Warning Against Gatherings

The Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area (AOLG) in Lagos State has issued a strict warning to residents against participating in the planned protest within the council area.

Council Chairman Mr. Valentine Buraimoh issued the warning in a statement on Wednesday.

The nationwide protest, scheduled from August 1 to August 10, aims to address issues related to hunger and the rising cost of living. The approved protest locations in Lagos State are Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Park in Ojota and Peace Park in Ketu.

Buraimoh stated that none of the approved protest locations are within AOLG. He warned that any gathering or protest within the area would violate a court order.

“As your Executive Chairman, I must emphasize that participating in any protest or gathering within AOLG will breach the court’s ruling. I urge everyone to respect the law and avoid such activities in our local government area,” Buraimoh said.
