BREAKING: Escaped Plateau Hyena Found Alive and Returned to Enclosure
A hyena that escaped from the Jos Wildlife Park in Plateau State has been found alive and returned to its enclosure.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the Plateau State Tourism Corporation, led by Chuwang Pwajok, announced that the hyena was discovered after a relentless search, tranquillized, and captured.
The statement read in part, “The Management of Plateau State Tourism Corporation would like to inform the general public that after relentless search and rescue efforts, the missing hyena has finally been found, tranquilized, captured, and safely returned to its enclosure.
“We deeply appreciate the general public for remaining calm and cooperative. This greatly assisted in the search and rescue of the animal. Thank you.”
Earlier, NIGERIA NEWS 247 reported that the hyena went missing on Sunday from its confinement at the Jos Wildlife Park in the Dong Community, Jos North Local Government Area. The escape caused panic among residents of Dong and nearby communities, including the State and Federal Low-Cost areas, for the past two days.
