Onyeme emphasized that security agents have the full support of the government to maintain law and order in these communities. He urged the communities to maintain peace, assuring them that the government is committed to finding lasting solutions to various boundary and land disputes across the state.

“The government’s advice is to maintain peace and avoid actions that increase tensions while experts are sent to address the issues,” Onyeme stated. “The MORE Agenda of this administration prioritizes enhancing peace and security, which are essential for development, opportunities, and reforms.”

The deputy governor announced that the Delta State Boundary Committee’s technical team would visit the Ugboba, Ogbomkpa, Issele-Asagba, and Okpanam communities within the next three weeks to address the issues raised.

“We will bring in our technical team to assess the situation and find solutions. Every community wants peace, and so does the government. This is the only way forward for us as a people,” Onyeme affirmed.

He added that the fact all parties have sought government intervention indicates a collective desire for solutions, emphasizing the government’s role in resolving issues fairly and equitably.

“We are here to solve the challenges of our people and be fair to everyone. Let’s approach things with fairness and remain calm while we seek solutions. Society evolves, and the only constant is change,” Onyeme said.

Delta State Commissioner of Police Olufemi Abaniwonda, represented by ACP Alex Udeze, urged all communities to maintain peace while the government works on resolving the issues. He warned that security agents would enforce law and order and hold accountable anyone causing unrest.
