In Yobe, the Police Command officials have reported the apprehension of 18 individuals linked to the violent demonstrations and vandalism that occurred on Thursday in the towns of Nguru, Potiskum, and Gashua.

DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, the spokesperson for the police command, shared this information during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Friday in Damaturu.

The spokesperson emphasized the police force’s preparedness to implement the previously established curfew from dusk until dawn in the affected areas to ensure peace and order.

While acknowledging the right to peaceful gatherings, the command clarified that this right is not unlimited and should not violate others’ rights.
