Fire Destroys Nine Classrooms and Six Offices at Kano School of Technology

Kano State Fire Service confirmed on Tuesday that a fire outbreak had completely destroyed nine classrooms and six offices at the School of Technology located on Mayan Fada Road.

Saminu Yusuf Abdullahi, the Public Relations Officer of the service, verified the incident to reporters, stating that the agency received a distress call from Faisal Dauda regarding the fire at the School of Technology.

“We swiftly mobilized a team of firefighters to the scene to extinguish the fire upon receiving the information,” Abdullahi further explained.

He detailed that a structure measuring approximately 500 X 500ft, housing nine classrooms and six offices, totaling 15 rooms, was entirely consumed by the fire. Although there were no casualties reported, the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

This incident comes after a devastating fire disaster in December 2023, where 22 shops were gutted at Gwarzo market, the headquarters of Gwarzo Local Government Area of Kano State. Traders suffered significant losses, with goods and properties worth millions of naira destroyed.
