Governor Bala Mohammed Appoints Alhaji Haruna Yunusa Ɗanyaya as 17th Emir of Ningi

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has appointed Alhaji Haruna Yunusa Ɗanyaya as the new Emir of Ningi, making him the 17th Emir of the region.

Alhaji Haruna, who now holds the title of 1st Class Emir, is the eldest son of the late Emir of Ningi, Yunusa Muhammad Ɗanyaya, who passed away recently.

The appointment was announced in a statement on Sunday by Mukhtar Gidado, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity.

Born in Ningi in 1956, Alhaji Haruna Yunusa Ɗanyaya previously served as the Chiroman Ningi. He is married and has children.

The Governor’s decision, made under the authority of Cap. 24 Item 3(1) of the Bauchi State laws regarding the Appointment of Emirs and Chiefs, followed the recommendations of the kingmakers.

The statement expressed the Bauchi State Government’s confidence in the new Emir’s ability to continue his late father’s legacy of promoting unity, peace, and development within the Ningi Emirate and across Bauchi State.

Governor Mohammed also reiterated his administration’s support for traditional institutions, emphasizing their crucial role in fostering peace and progress in the state.
