Gunmen Kidnap Chief Priestess and 11 Others in Delta State

Gunmen abducted Mrs. Kuku, a chief priestess, along with 11 others in Egbo community, Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State on Saturday around 4:00 PM, according to reports by NIGERIA NEWS 247.

The incident unfolded as Mrs. Kuku and her followers were conducting rituals under a bridge between Egbo and Ekrokpe communities dedicated to her river goddess when the gunmen launched their attack. Approximately five of her worshippers were also taken captive during the incident.

Prior to seizing Mrs. Kuku and her group, the gunmen had previously abducted five other individuals, all of whom were taken through the bush before the assailants fled the scene.

Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed that the incident had not yet been formally reported to the police. He assured that he would investigate the matter and provide further information to the media.
