Hit-and-Run Accident Kills Ebonyi Journalist

In Ebonyi State, a Nigerian journalist named Sunday Agara was tragically killed by a hit-and-run driver as he was on his way back from the farm along the Nwezenyi Ebonyi road on the West Africa Trans-Sahara highway.

This devastating incident was confirmed in a press release by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) State chapter, shedding light on the unfortunate demise of Agara.

Sampson Nwafor, the NUJ Chairman in Ebonyi, sadly revealed the tragic passing of Agara. This heartbreaking event has deeply affected the union, especially considering that it occurred just a month after another colleague, Simon Ezaka, was in a terrible car accident on the Abakaliki-Afikpo highway.

According to NUJ’s statement, Agara was an exceptional Public Relations Officer employed by the Ebonyi State government. His work showcased remarkable skill and professionalism in handling his duties as a PRO.

The NUJ Chairman in Ebonyi emphasized that his involvement as a Union member significantly impacted the development and coherence of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Ebonyi State.

His dedication to participating in various activities and initiatives of the Union played a vital role in its progress. The individual, who has passed away, was an employee at the Ministry of Information and State Orientation in Ebonyi State. He was assigned to serve as a Public Relations Officer at the State Ministry of Power and Energy.
