Ivo Water Project will be Ready in Six Months – Gov Nwifuru

The Executive Governor of Ebonyi state, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, said that the the Government of Ebonyi State has released full funds for the Ivo Water project to the Ministry for Water Resources, and that the project is estimated to be ready within six months. 

Gov Nwifuru said this yesterday, Saturday 11th May 2024, when he played host to Ishiagu Community Development Union (ICDU), Ivo Local Government Area, led by their President General – Arc. Moses N. Ajah (FNIA).  He said that the members of the union were on hand to pay him a courtesy visit and he obliged their requests in accordance to the needs of their people.

Nwifuru stated that it is the resolve and responsibility of the Government, to deepen conversations around the development of communities for the good of the people of Ebonyi. According to him, the development of rural communities remains a critical part of the People’s Charter of Needs mantra, and forms a large chunk of our 2024 Budget.”

He said that “The Government of Ebonyi State has released full funds for the Ivo Water project, to the Ministry for Water Resources. According to the projection of the contractor, it will be ready in six months.”

“The Government of Ebonyi State will provide Certificate of Occupancy for the land proposed for the construction of the ultra modern Ishiagu market.”

“I have directed the Commissioner for Health to immediately hand over the Amokwe Community Health Centre back to the Development Union, as they requested, as Government is handling the Ishiagu General Hospital. Both have to be working efficiently.”

He finally thanked Ishiagu people for their visit, and appreciate His Excellency, Sen. Anyim Pius Anyim for stabilizing and fostering the Development and Unity of the people of Ivo.
