Kwara Rainstorm Devastates, Destroys 35 Homes

A downpour wreaked havoc on Igbonna community in Oyun Local Government Area of Kwara State, leaving 35 houses destroyed.

The calamity struck just three days after over 1,000 individuals were displaced by another rainstorm in Iyara community, headquarters of Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State.

Hassan Adekunle, the Head of Media and Publicity of the Kwara State Fire Service, confirmed the recent incident, stating that numerous residents were displaced by the devastating impact of the rainstorm on their homes.

“The Ogbonna community in Oyun LGA suffered greatly from the heavy rainstorm, with 35 houses affected. The magnitude of the disaster has left many in confusion, struggling to find shelter,” Adekunle explained.

He urged the government and charitable individuals and organizations to swiftly provide assistance to the affected community.
