Ladoja to Be Crowned with Ibadan Beaded Crown on Monday
Former Oyo State Governor Rashidi Ladoja will receive a beaded crown from the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, on Monday, August 12.
According to NIGERIA NEWS 247, Ladoja, who holds the title of Otun Olubadan, has confirmed that he will be crowned during the inaugural meeting of the Olubadan-in-Council, presided over by Oba Olakulehin.
A source disclosed that Ladoja received a letter on Friday evening, stating that the crown fitting his status as Otun Olubadan would be presented to him at the meeting, scheduled to begin at noon at the new Palace, Oke Aremo, Ibadan.
Ladoja had previously rejected a beaded crown when the late Oba Lekan Balogun crowned other members of the Olubadan-in-Council. He also took legal action against the Oyo State government and the Olubadan-in-Council over the issue, which was eventually resolved.
Despite initially refusing the crown, Ladoja announced last Sunday during a radio interview that he would accept the beaded crown, aligning with the new requirements for ascending the Olubadan throne.
