Numerous trapped as four-story building collapses in Abuja

An unspecified number of people were trapped when a four-story building collapsed at Unity House, Area 11 near Nkwere Street in the Garki area of the Federal Capital Territory.

The  incident occurred on Monday night while the building’s occupants were asleep. The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed the incident on Tuesday.

She informed our correspondent that three victims have been successfully rescued from the rubble, and the search is ongoing. According to SP Adeh, the National Emergency Management Agency of Nigeria and FCT Development Control have been notified, and their personnel are managing the scene.
