Ogun Government: Road Projects to Resume and Complete After Rainy Season
The Ogun State Government has assured residents of Kemta Olokuta-Wole Soyinka Rail Station, Ewang Exit-Iyana Tekobo, Oke-Ijeun-Nawarudeen Road, Lafenwa-Rounda, and other road networks of their prompt completion once the rainy season ends.
Special Adviser and General Manager of Ogun State Public Works Agency, Babatunde Adesina, provided this assurance during a radio program in Abeokuta on Wednesday.
Adesina urged residents to remain patient, emphasizing that all preliminary work for these roads has been completed. He highlighted that the recent reconstruction of the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway was initiated at the request of Governor Abiodun, who recognized the challenges faced by commuters on this route.
He stated: “Prince Dapo Abiodun understands the difficulties faced by commuters and has made significant progress on various roads in the state, including Elite-Lantoro, Immigration-Prof. Wole Soyinka, Fajool-Alogi-Gbonogun, Ijebu-Epe, Awujale, Folagbade, Joju, Answarudeen-Oju Ore, Osi-Ota-Raypower, Igan Okoto-Joga-Orile Phase One, Ewusi, and Molusi College roads, among others.”
“We ask for continued patience as work progresses. Road construction involves multiple stages, including planning, fieldwork, sub-structure work, and bridge construction. As a responsive government, we have also implemented temporary measures to alleviate some road issues,” he added.
In response, resident Aralamo Bashiru from Olokuta community expressed gratitude for the palliative measures applied to the Kemta-Olokuta Road and requested expedited rehabilitation. Additionally, Mrs. Ibikun from Ayetoro called for the repair of the Alamala-Ayetoro Road.
