So-Safe Corps Apprehends Three for Transformer Vandalism, Recovers Stolen Items in Ogun

The So-Safe Corps in Ogun State has apprehended three men for vandalizing and stealing transformer cables in Idiroko, Ipokia Local Government Area of the state.

In a statement released to the press in Abeokuta on Tuesday by the corps spokesman, Moruf Yusuf, the arrests were made known. The suspects, identified as Eze Sunday, an ex-convict, Eze John Charles, and Jamilu Danjuma, were apprehended on Sunday at around 5:30 am.

Yusuf stated that upon interrogation, the first two suspects confessed to the crime and implicated the third suspect, Danjuma, as the receiver of the stolen items.

He further mentioned that the suspects, along with the recovered exhibits, which included burnt and separated copper wires, have been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Idiroko Divisional Headquarters, for further investigation and potential prosecution.

“The patrol team led by Chief Superintendent of Corps, Abdulkareem Abdulrazaq, apprehended the suspects on May 26, 2024, at about 05:30 hrs.

“This arrest underscores the corps’ dedication to combatting vandalism and theft in the state.

“We will persist in our efforts to ensure the safety and security of Ogun State citizens,” the statement concluded.
