Two Dead, Thirteen Injured in Sagamu-Ijebu Ode Expressway Accident

Two individuals lost their lives, and thirteen others were injured in an accident at Ajede, following J4, on the Sagamu-Ijebu Ode expressway on Saturday.

Mrs. Florence Okpe, the spokesperson of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun, confirmed the incident, noting that it occurred around 12:10 pm.

The accident involved a Toyota Hiace bus (GUE 59 ZY) and a truck (BGT 94 LG). Okpe attributed the accident to excessive speeding, causing the bus to collide with a stationary truck.

She reported that among the fifteen individuals involved (ten men and five women), thirteen sustained injuries, while two lost their lives.

The injured were transported to Hope Hospital at J4, and the deceased were taken to the Ijebu-Ode General Hospital Morgue.

Meanwhile, Sector Commander Anthony Uga cautioned against improper parking on highways, urging motorists to avoid overspeeding and prioritize safe driving.
