Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has pledged zero tolerance for favoritism in appointments during his administration.
Following the administration of oaths of office and allegiance to two commissioners, the state head of service, four permanent secretaries, and 28 Special Advisers for effective service delivery in the state, Buni assured that appointments would be made based on merit and competence.
He urged the new commissioners to actively contribute to the formulation and execution of government policies, programs, and projects transparently and for the benefit of the state’s populace.
Speaking directly to the new Head of Service, Hamidu M. Alhaji, Governor Buni acknowledged the challenge posed by the retirement of experienced hands and encouraged him to cultivate a new, efficient workforce capable of serving the people of Yobe State effectively.
“I assure you that the government will provide your office with all necessary support for training and retraining of the workforce to enhance service delivery efficiency,” Buni affirmed.
He emphasized the importance of promoting competence and merit within the civil service to ensure its effectiveness and productivity.
Governor Buni also tasked the 28 Special Advisers with engaging their constituents to ensure they understand government policies and programs.
