Annkio Briggs Demands Ibas Account for Rivers State Funds

Human rights activist Annkio Briggs has accused the immediate past sole administrator of Rivers State, Ibok-Ete Ibas, of misusing state funds and called for him to be held accountable.

Speaking in an interview on Sunday Politics aired on Channels Television, Briggs said, “He (Ibok-Ete Ibas) spent our money. He must answer to the people of Rivers State—and to Nigerians—for the sake of integrity, justice, and fairness.”

She added, “You cannot take control of a state’s resources and funds, remain in office for six months, and then walk away as if nothing happened. He was here for six months, and during that time, he spent our money. That’s the truth. There’s no reason to question why we refer to it as our money—it is our money.”
