The All Progressives Congress (APC) Defends Tinubu’s Fairness in Key Appointments. Felix Morka, spokesperson for the APC, defended President Bola Tinubu against accusations of nepotism, emphasizing that Tinubu has been equitable in his key appointments across the country.

In an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Morka rebutted claims by some Northerners, asserting, “President Tinubu is striving for fairness. We see a fair distribution in the key offices.”

Morka acknowledged that it was premature for critics to judge Tinubu’s appointments so early into his administration. He remarked, “This government has only been in office for a year and has yet to fill all available positions. There are still many appointments to be made. We have appointments in the Presidency, Defence, Finance, among others.”

Highlighting the diversity in appointments, Morka noted, “The Defence sector is predominantly staffed by individuals from the northern region, whereas the Minister of Finance and the CBN Governor hail from the southern region.”

He urged critics to withhold judgment until more key positions are filled, underscoring, “For those concerned about ethnic representation, the President serves the entire nation. He is not just the President of the South-West, North, or South, but of Nigeria as a whole. Every part of the country deserves effective representation in accordance with the Federal Character principle enshrined in our constitution.”
