Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, has relieved Hajiya Zainab Baban Takko of her role as Commissioner for Women Affairs and Child Development.

The decision, which takes immediate effect, was announced on Sunday in a statement issued by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado. The move was described as a “minor adjustment” to the current makeup of the State Executive Council.

While the statement did not provide a specific reason for her removal, Governor Mohammed thanked Hajiya Takko for her contributions to the administration and wished her success in her future pursuits.

Hajiya Takko was appointed commissioner on September 9, 2024. Prior to that, she served as caretaker chairperson of Bauchi Local Government Area, a position she assumed in July 2023 following her appointment by the governor.
