2027: Jonathan Supporters Storm PDP Convention With Campaign Flags, Pushes Bala Mohammed for VP

Some members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) advocating for former President Goodluck Jonathan’s return to politics were on Saturday sighted at the venue of the party’s ongoing elective convention in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The group openly displayed campaign flags bearing Jonathan’s image alongside that of Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, presented as his potential running mate.

There has been growing speculation that Jonathan is considering a political comeback ahead of the 2027 presidential election. Though the former president has remained silent on the matter, some of his close associates have reportedly confirmed his interest in joining the race.

This development comes a day after posters of Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde were also seen around the convention grounds on Friday, further heightening anticipation and political maneuvering within the party.
