Former France International Detained by Police – Here’s What Happened
Former France international and ex-Marseille midfielder Samir Nasri has been questioned by police as part of an investigation into alleged financial offences.
According to reports from Le Parisien, Nasri was taken into custody during an inquiry into suspected money laundering connected to an organised criminal network allegedly involved in drug trafficking.
The former midfielder reportedly spent around 10 hours in police custody, where he was questioned by investigators before being released on Thursday, 9 July. Authorities have not announced any formal charges against Nasri at this stage.
Nasri, who retired from professional football in 2021, enjoyed a successful career at both club and international level. The talented midfielder began his career at Marseille before moving to the Premier League, where he represented Arsenal and Manchester City.
During his career, Nasri also played for Sevilla, Antalyaspor, West Ham United, and Anderlecht, while earning international recognition with the French national team.
The investigation remains ongoing, with no further details released regarding Nasri’s alleged involvement.
