BREAKING: Emirates to resume Operations in Nigeria from October 1

Emirates Airline will be resuming daily flights to Lagos, providing unmatched connectivity for travelers from Nigeria.

Starting on October 1, 2024, Emirates plans to reintroduce flights to Nigeria with a daily route connecting Lagos and Dubai. This will provide passengers in Nigeria’s biggest city with increased options and seamless travel connections via Dubai.

A Boeing 777-300ER will be utilized for the service. Departing from Dubai at 0945hrs, EK783 is scheduled to land in Lagos at 1520hrs. The return journey, EK784, will take off from Lagos at 1730hrs and reach Dubai at 0510hrs the following day. Tickets are available for booking on emirates.com or through travel agents.

Adnan Kazim, Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer of Emirates, expressed enthusiasm about the resumption of services to Nigeria. The Lagos-Dubai route has always been well-received by Nigerian customers, and we aim to once again link leisure and business travelers to Dubai and our extensive network of over 140 destinations.

We extend our gratitude to the Nigerian government for their collaboration and assistance in reinstating this route, eagerly anticipating the return of passengers on our flights.

Emirates has expanded its services to Nigeria, now serving a total of 19 destinations across Africa with 157 weekly flights departing from Dubai. Additionally, the airline offers connections to an extra 130 regional locations in Africa through collaborative agreements with airlines like South African Airways, Airlink, Royal Air Maroc, and Tunis Air.

Nigeria and the UAE have established robust trade ties over the years, with Lagos serving as a key commercial hub in Africa. The recent reintroduction of daily passenger flights will enhance this relationship, as Emirates SkyCargo’s cargo division is set to provide over 300 tonnes of cargo capacity to and from Lagos each week, further strengthening bilateral trade between the two nations.

Emirates SkyCargo plans to assist Nigerian businesses by shipping their products through its advanced hub in Dubai to various important markets like the UAE, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Bahrain. The goods expected to be exported include Kola Nuts, food and beverages, and urgent courier items.

Additionally, Emirates SkyCargo will bring in essential items like pharmaceuticals and electronics, as well as general cargo from key markets such as the UAE, India, and Hong Kong. By ensuring a smooth flow of trade, these products will be transported swiftly, effectively, and dependably through the airline’s diverse specialized product range.

The Emirates flight to Lagos will feature 8 luxurious First Class suites, 42 spacious Business Class seats, and 304 comfortable Economy Class seats. Passengers can enjoy exquisite regionally inspired meals crafted by top chefs, along with a diverse range of premium drinks.
